My name is June. My passion for volleyball started at a young age. Watching high school players
compete in tournaments inspired me to learn the game as a grade schooler.
Beholding the fun and camaraderie within the team, the spirited competition and
teamwork they built left me an indelible memory and I knew then that I wanted
to play volleyball. That desire came to fruition, playing volleyball in Highschool
and on through my college years while studying Chemistry. Not having grown to
more than ‘6 inches below 6 feet’ became a challenge, but I was not deterred. I
ended up taking defense and setter positions for my team. I continued playing in
leagues after college and have won a few championship awards. I am now a
parent and have seen middle schoolers play and compete with consternation.
Seeing what some of these kids can do, but unfortunately not instructed, drove
me to pursue coaching. That was 10 years ago. Watching kids grow and mature to
become good players felt very rewarding and made me want to stay and keep
coaching. I have coached middle school and high school level volleyball and club
volleyball ages 9 to 18. Some of the kids I’ve coached are now in college and what
a joy to know some of them have been recruited to play for their college teams.
Hello my name is Isrrael Paco and I been playing volleyball for almost 15 years. I am currently playing with the NAGVA league where I've played 10 seasons. I have also played open gyms around the bay area: San Jose, San Francisco, Campbell, Sunnyvale, Menlo Park etc. I been with Tropical Touch for the past 3 years. The first year with Tropical Touch I took the team to first place in the bronze division. The second year we took second place in the Silver Division and also took 2nd place in Hawaii. I enjoy coaching volleyball and I love to give 100% when I coach. Further, I love to watch the girls taking my knowledge and improving their game! I’m always pushing to be better and reminding our girls to always be humble, an excellent trait of great players. I graduated De Anza College with an Associates degree in administrative justice and I will soon will be attending San Jose State University.
